This Supersized Lada With Two Engines Somehow Works

Date:

Garage 54 has no shortage of wild builds, but its latest one pushes the boundaries of do-it-yourself engineering. The team built a cartoonishly supersized Lada and decided that such a unique build needed an equally special powertrain. So, the crew decided to put two 1.6-liter Lada motors into the massive engine bay, combining their output for double the thrust.

The engines make about 76 horsepower each, and the crew installed them parallel in the engine bay, using a metal plate to connect the two. A motorcycle chain running between the engines combined their output, which connected to the gearbox through an axle shaft. The car’s so large that the team had to move the gearbox rearward into the cabin so the driver could use the shifter.

The interior is as wild as the exterior. There are two oversized chairs, like you’d have in your living room, for the front passengers, which is quite fitting for the large Lada. There’s even a couch in the back to serve as the rear seat, and a chandelier that adds a splash of class and luxury, enhancing the cabin experience. Watch out, Rolls-Royce.

The video concludes with the big Lada driving out of the garage for what we’re confident will be a thorough and scientific evaluation of the car’s capabilities. But we’ll have to wait for those results.
